Ariana Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post, declared that the news site will post its first profit this year. Huffington stated that the site has more than 26 million unique monthly visitors. According to an unnamed source, The Huffington Post plans to triple sales to $100 million in 2012 from $30 million this year.

"With such positive momentum, HuffPo can stay its course and grow organically or it can merge with or acquire someone" said Shahid Khan, Chairman and Chief Strategist of Mediamorph. "Its current valuation is in the $300 million to $450 million range, which makes it too rich for a small player to acquire. This means that the only exit options are an IPO or acquisition by a larger media conglomerate." Huffington Post to Turn First Annual Profit, Targets Threefold Sales Gain
